Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

My name is Alison Workman, I am the founder of Rheia Reproductive Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in reproductive mental health.

I received my bachelor’s in nursing from Columbia University. After which, I gained experience as a registered nurse in medical intensive care, outpatient pediatrics, refugee and migrant health, and reproductive medicine. I received a master’s degree in psychiatric mental health nursing from New York University.

I completed a reproductive psychiatry fellowship at The Motherhood Center of New York. Through my work at The Motherhood Center, I have developed expertise in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.   

Rheia

(pronounced rā-uh)

An earthly goddess in Greek mythology, Rheia was said to be the Titaness Mother of the Gods. She was known as the goddess of female fertility, motherhood, childbirth, protection and fruitful living. The name Rheia means “flow” and “ease”.

  • While I do not contract with any insurance companies directly, you may be eligible for out of network benefits. I provide super bills for submission to your insurance plan for reimbursement.

  • My goal is to collaborate with you to determine the best course of treatment. This treatment plan may, or may not include medication.

  • The length of treatment depends on your specific needs. Many clients choose to extend treatment beyond the perinatal period.

  • I am always willing to collaborate with your therapist, psychiatrist or any other clinician participating in your care.
